What are Light Duty Aluminium Chequer Plate Angles used for?
Being manufactured from our thinnest Aluminium Treadplate, our Light Duty 1.5mm thick folded Chequer Plate Angles are a cost effective option for non industrial applications.
Although 1.5mm Aluminium Chequer Plate is hard wearing, these Angles will offer only a very modest amount of structural strength and are therefore are best suited to areas that are only impacted by foot traffic as opposed to vehicles.
One of the biggest factors that will effect the performance of the light duty chequer plate angles is the condition of the substrate that they are being fixed to. If there are already holes and areas of imperfection / damage in the substrate, then the 1.5mm thick Corner Protectors will likely become dented in these areas if the traffic is any heavier then pedestrians. If the substrate is perfectly flat and sound then the performance of these angles will be much improved.
Light Duty Aluminium Chequer Plate Angles are perfect for corner protection in corridors and other environments that are subject to foot traffic only, and for use as trims on work benches, trade counters and reception areas.
How do I install Light Duty Aluminium Chequer Plate Angles?
We always recommend a mechanical fix when installing Aluminium Corner Protectors. Firstly, there can be slight fluctuations in the actual produced angle. Secondly, it is also not uncommon to find that the walls that require protection are not perfectly 90 degrees either. Finally, adhesives are far more prone to failure then screws and other types of fixings.
To aid installation we also offer the angles pre-drilled with 4 x fixing holes in each face and in addition to this we also offer packs of decorative dome head screws complete with wall plugs.
